A Proper Auntie - written AND illustrated by my Mum - Ann Sutherland

I am SO PROUD to introduce you to ‘A Proper Auntie’, a book written AND illustrated by my fabulous Mum, Ann Sutherland!

Growing up in the 1950’s and remembering visits from her Auntie inspired Mum to write and illustrate this little poem of a time gone by.

Things were done differently then and a rare visit from her Auntie by train was indeed a very special occasion.

Our country was recovering from the Second World War and so there wasn’t a lot of money about. However, her Auntie’s visits meant a few special things were bought for tea!  It caused much excitement and left my Mum and her brother longing for her next appearance!

This hard covered book has been created to entertain both adults and children, at the same time revealing a bit of social history.  It is dedicated to all those Aunties out there!

It is £10 with ALL proceeds going to The Pilgrim’s Hospice.

This connects back to my Dad.  Incredibly and with total natural timing, we are launching this one year on from having to say good bye to him and exactly this time last year were about to turn to the hospice. (July 2021). 

This is for him and for them and we hope to raise as much money as we can!
